Want to add some farmhouse flair to your kitchen? Here are some easy and fun kitchen towels you can make with a fabric marker that are machine washable, YAH! I created some fun graphics and stencils to make these towels and I am excited to share them with you.
SUPPLIES FOR KITCHEN TOWELS
Step 1) I washed and ironed my towels. This first step isn’t necessary but the towels do shrink about 5 inches so it may make a difference in sizing and placement of the stencil. It is pretty much impossible to get the wrinkles completely out of the flour sack towels.
Step 2) Make a stencil, apply it to the towel and color the stencil. I used my Silhouette Cameo to make my stencil. If you don’t own a cutting machine you can cut out a stencil made of paper or trace a graphic by placing it under the towel since the towels are easy to see through. I also placed cardboard under the towel while I colored in the stencil to protect the surface. Once dry, remove stencil and show off your fun new towels by hanging them in your kitchen.
What a great way to add some humor to the kitchen and these would also made a great gift!
I already washed my towels and the fabric market has held up very nicely so far.
What fun sayings can you come up with to put on your towels?
