Do you love skiing or snowboarding? Since I am a snowboarder and I live in Colorado I would have to say I am pretty lucky to live close to several world renown ski resorts.
Because of my love for this winter sport I thought it would be fun to make some coasters that represent these amazing sports and add some humor to the ski symbols. *This post contains some affiliate links for your convenience. Click here to read my full disclosure policy.
TOOLS FOR SKI COASTERS
SUPPLIES FOR SKI COASTERS
- 4 ft x 8 ft x 3/8 inches
- Paint – white, black, green, blue, red and gray (optional)
- Stencil made from Silhouette Cameo
- Polycrylic sealer
CUTS FOR DOG FOOD TRAY
- 5 – 4 x 4 inches
Step 1) I started out by painting two coats of white paint to the coasters. While this was drying I created 5 different stencils on my Silhouette Cameo. I applied the stencils and painted each symbol in their designated colors.

Step 2) Once the stencil paint was dry I sanded the edges and a couple different spots on each coaster. Then I mixed 4:1 water to dark gray paint and painted it on the coaster. I left it for a few seconds and then wiped it off. This created a vintage/worn look in all the perfect spots.
Step 3) Finally l I applied a Polycrylic water based sealer in satin to protect them from my favorite after mountain beverage.
