Hello! Valentines Day is on the horizon, which of course is the time to celebrate with the one you love. I made this Easy Scrap Wood Sign not only to remember my vows throughout the year, but the colors are neutral making it perfect for putting it on a shelf or hang it on the wall year round.
In this tutorial I will show you how to make this “I still do” sign from scrap wood and you give you the FREE graphics as well. This is super easy and pretty much FREE since I had everything on hand.

CUTS FOR SCRAP WOOD SIGN
The scrap pieces I used measured:
- 1 – 1 x 4 – 19 inches (small)
- 1 – 1 x 4 – 23 1/2 inches (large)
STEPS TO MAKE SCRAP WOOD SIGN
Step 1) I started out by sanding the wood pieces. Then I applied a coat of black chalk paint.
Step 2) I created a stencil and cut it out with my Silhouette Cameo. Get your free image by clicking on the image below (personal use only). I created this JPG file so you can adjust the size as appropriate. Then I applied the stencil and painted it with white chalk paint.
Once this dried I gave it a good sanding to give it a rustic aged look.
Finally I placed it on my shelf. I can’t decide which one I like better.
