Beer Chili

Ingredients
  • 1-1.5 lbs of ground turkey
  • 1 medium to large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 cup corn (thawed if used frozen)
  • 1 jalapeño chopped, seeds removed (add seeds to taste of preferred heat level)
  • 2 (16 oz) cans of beans, rinsed and drained (kidney, chili, black or pinto), I often use two different kinds
  • 2 (14.5 oz) cans of diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 (15 oz) can of tomato sauce
  • 1 (12 oz) can/bottle of beer (see below)
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
  1. On medium to high heat sauté onion and garlic for about 5 minutes.
  2. Add turkey meat and brown for 8-10 minutes.
  3. Add the jalapeño and corn. Cook for another couple of minutes.
  4. Add the rest of the ingredients (from beans to pepper).
  5. Bring to a boil then simmer on low for 60 minutes uncovered.
