We made it to Week 6. The final week of the One Room Challenge (ORC).
If you are new to the One Room Challenge (ORC) it is a challenge two times a year where designers and bloggers transform a space in 6 weeks. For my space I have chosen to do an Industrial Farmhouse Kitchen Nook. Thanks Linda from Calling it Home who hosts this event in April and October.
Here is where this space started when we moved in 10 months ago.
Before a whole kitchen remodel this past December we knocked down a few walls, a couple of soffits, removed the popcorn ceiling, removed wallpaper, took out the existing window trim, added new wood floors, lighting and paint. Here is where the space started in Week 1.

For this space I was able to accomplish most of the BIG items. I stenciled and white washed a brick wall, added window trim to all three windows, added shiplap, a personalized pallet sign and counter height stools. We were also able to add backsplash to the kitchen walls.
I am really excited how it turned out and really surprised I was able to get most of the space completed.
I also looked into adding a back door. The process takes about 8 weeks for the particular door I had in mind and I need to find a time to put it in our budget at well.
I ran out of time to add a few extra items that were on the list. These included roman shades and accessories. I plan to finish those in the next few weeks. Stay tuned as I will be posting tutorials how to DIY the projects.
It looks beautiful! At first I thought you tiled it ๐
Hi Delia,
Thanks so much.
Wow, what a difference it made to take down that wallpaper! I love your new wall treatment and that sign is so great…it makes your space ๐ Great ORC makeover!
Hi Kristin,
Thank you so much for stopping by to check out the space.
