Welcome!
It’s Week 2 and I am back giving you an update on my Industrial Farmhouse Kitchen Nook. But first things first, if you are new to the One Room Challenge (ORC) let me explain. The One Room Challenge started several years ago that involves designers and bloggers transforming a space in 6 weeks. Thanks Linda from Calling it Home who hosts this event in April and October. This space has definitely transformed from when we first moved in. We did a kitchen reno and added a kitchen island to the nook area. Check out Kitchen Nook – Week 1 to see more before pics.
Here is where we started on week 1.
Here is where things landed in week 2. I started out by painting the window area in a creamish color. I am sorry I don’t have the paint color because it was a custom paint color that was given to me for FREE yah! when another customer returned it. It worked perfect for the space. This color served the base/grout for the brick wall. I also applied the Bricks Allover Wall Stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils to as much of the wall as I could over the last week. I will post a tutorial on how to use this stencil soon.
I still have to workout how I am going to do the angles and I have spots to touch up, but the beauty of the brick is that imperfection is acceptable so I am not going to let my perfectionistic self take over here 😀 .
I am really excited how it is coming along and the brick has already started to warm up the room in an otherwise house full of cool tones of white and grays.
I will catch you next week for Week 3. I hope you all have a Happy Easter.
