We are in Week three of the Moody Master Bathroom Remodel. Drywall, underlayment and tile installation.
Welcome to week three of the One Room Challenge (ORC) for Spring 2019!
ORC is a challenge for several designers and bloggers to makeover one room in six weeks. We are in week three so that means halfway there. This week we are starting to see more of the cosmetics and pretty things are starting to take form.
Earlier this week we had 13 sheets of drywall installed and textured. The underlayment and floor tile was also installed as well as some of the shower tile.
Here is a pic of the drywall installation at the entrance of the bathroom and the cement board installation in the shower. Here is a close up of the framing for the shower niches before it was covered with cement board. I have to say I am super excited about these niches. The underlayment was installed. The next day the floor tile was installed. Later in the week part of the shower tile was installed and a waterproof membrane was applied to the shower niches. I also bought two different sample paints to try out in the bathroom. I painted two cardboard pieces with white primer and then applied my samples over. I buy the $3, 8 oz. sample sizes from The Home Depot to trial paint colors. I left them in the bathroom for a few days to observe them in different lights. Going with a dark paint color was out of my comfort zone. So hopefully I will stick with it and push through the uneasiness and it will all come together.
