Hey there! Wanted to put up a quick post that I came up with at the last minute. We host a Valentine’s dinner for our church small group every year. As part of this dinner my husband and I cook all the food, apps, dessert, etc and let our guests have an evening of being served. Friends of ours did this for us several years ago and we loved it. We decided to carry on the tradition and this is our third year hosting.
I was short on time and wanted to make some place card holders for the table. Luckily I had some left over candy hearts from last year and card stock. While I was putting these together temptation overcame me and I ate one of the candy hearts. Not too bad. I am sure those things never expire despite what the date on the package says :-).
Supplies:
Candy hearts or other candy of choice
Card stock
Paper
First I started by cutting the card stock. I cut the card stock in a 2 x 2.5 inch size. Next using Word, I typed all of our guest’s names out in Vladimir Script font size 30. Then I cut out the names in a 2 x 1.5 inch size and glued the name cards to the card stock cut outs. I picked the best looking Sweethearts I could find, applied glue to the backs of the candy hearts and glued them to the front and the backs of the place cards. I put the candy hearts at an angle and made sure the place card was touching the table when I glued on the hearts. This allowed the place card holder to stand up and stay up right.
And there you have it. When you are ever in a pinch its amazing what you can create with just what you have on hand.
Take time this weekend to show appreciation for those most special to you.
Happy Valentine’s Day
